Bahía de Santander is an organization dedicated to ecotourism and environmental education that offers ecotourism activities for all audiences: boat trips and hiking trails along the Cantabrian coast, interpretive itineraries, birdwatching, botanical walks, and photo safaris.
The Bay of Santander is one of the northern locations on the Iberian Peninsula where osprey sightings are recorded annually, during wintering and migratory periods. Their presence as a wintering bird has been recorded since the 1999-2000 season, with a male returning for 14 years. Since then, the number has been increasing, increasing over the last 7 years. As a noteworthy fact, nine wintering birds were counted in Cantabria during the 2022-2023 winter, three of them in the Bay.
